My name is Hart Van Denburg, and I’m the founder of Oso y Oro Goods in Missoula, Montana, where we make outdoor gear based on the principles of sustainability through durability and unifying form with function. And we like to have a little fun with our designs.
Let’s be honest: A lot of outdoor products are over-designed in look and feel, and under built in construction and materials - 15 pockets on a backpack made from flimsy material is overkill and lousy value. At Oso y Oro we source the best fabrics, often woven from recycled materials, focus our construction on durability and longevity, and we don’t cut production corners to make more profit out of a cheaper product. Our simple and functional gear is an investment, that can be used for years to come, not something headed to a premature date with the landfill.
Let’s have fun, too: Those durable and sustainable fabrics we use are often bright and colorful to give the gear a little more personality and uniqueness. Of course, Oso y Oro will make your gear grey if that’s what you are after. That’s because, along with our standard designs, we can offer custom designs and builds, connecting with you face to face, in person or on video, to ensure we deliver a piece of gear that exactly fits your needs.
Oso y Oro blends together my love of life outdoors in the Rockies, my degree in graphic design from Montana State University in Bozeman, and the skill of sewing I learned and put into practice for years while working for Beartooth Vanworks and Yama Mountain Gear here in Montana. Oso y Oro is committed to an ethical and sustainable business that expresses these values through its products. Check out Oso y Oro Goods. We know you’ll be glad you did.
